About Us
Paul Deschamps is the founder of Wild Harbor Canine located on Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Paul's goal is to help his clients build a life long, mutually fulfilling relationship with their dogs. With an emphasis on behavioral learning theory, ethology, and neuroscience Wild Harbor Canine works to build programs specifically tailored to each individual dog.
.Paul is a graduate of world renowned trainer Ivan Balabanov's prestigious Training Without Conflict Program. Paul splits his time between helping local dogs owners and traveling the world teaching seminars to other trainers and dog sport competitors.
He is also competitive in the protection sport PSA with his two Belgian Malinois, Bronson and Iris. His newest prospect, Hilde, is currently training for Mondio and French Ring sport.
Cali Kelly completed her dog training education through The Michael Ellis School For Dog Trainers as well as a two year apprenticeship with Wild Harbor Canine Owner Paul Deschamps. She is also the owner of The Cape Cod Dog Walker. Cali and her pit bull Vern can often be spotted exploring the sandbars of Cape Cod!
Programs
-Private Lessons-
We offer private lessons for the owner who is interested in being an active participant in the learning process. This training format will give the owner a deep understanding of the learning process!
Lesson topics can include but are not limited to: Obedience, raising a new puppy, advanced off leash obedience, anxiety, reactivity, aggression, dog neutrality, confidence building, AKC Canine Good Citizen prep and Evaluation, and more!
Lessons are available in person as well as virtually.
Private lessons last approximately 55 minutes.
The cost for a single lesson is $165
For additional savings we offer packages as well.

-Board & Train-
We are proud to provide a truly unique two and three week board and train program for our clients. Dogs are NOT kept in a commercial kennel setting during this program, as we view this as a counter productive stressor. Instead, a small number of student dogs (2-3 max) are kept in our home where we provide the same training and care that we give our personal dogs.
During this program we address general obedience behaviors including: Sit, down, stay, loose leash walk, formal heeling, recall, duration stay on a place or dog bed, threshold and doorway manners, prevention and resolution of reactivity, cooperative care, and more. All behaviors are taught in the classroom, generalized in public settings and finally proofed in the presence of distractions.

-Sport/ Protection Sport Coaching-
Our speciality! We offer sport and protection sport coaching to teams ranging from puppies to high level competitors. In addition to many podium finishes with our own dogs, we have helped countless teams around the country in several sport disciplines including PSA, Ring Sport, IGP, AKC Obedience and more!
We offer private one on one coaching (in person and virtual!) as well as seminars world wide!

*Scheduling subject to availability. No-shows and lessons canceled with less than 24 hours notice will be billed or deducted from paid packages. Prepaid packages are good for up to 6 months from designated start date. If a dog is deemed unfit for a specific program, payment will be applied to a more appropriate training option better suited to the dogs needs and abilities.
